SUMMARY:Downtown Apex Merchant's Charitable Snowball Fight!
DESCRIPTION:This year\, a snowball fight of epic proportions will hit the streets of Historic Downtown Apex.  Fifteen local merchants have a snowball ready for you to claim\, plus a sesquicentennial inspired beanie to don when you're shopping & dining around town. \n\nBesides shopping & dining perks for participating in the fight\, your generous partnership will invest in the potential of youth. How? \n\nThis is no ordinary snowball fight. \n\n \n\nYou might say it's 150 years in the making. From December 1st-24th participating      merchants are fighting to display at least 150 snowballs on their windows and collectively "sell" 150 beanies.  It's the merchant's way of celebrating the town's 150 years. Each snowball & beanie will symbolize a collective belief in community through your            donations\; neighbors helping neighbors. Your monetary donations will create an          avalanche of funds to help White Oak Foundation "stock the shelves" of its new Young Scholar Academy & Childcare Center opening soon.  \n\n \n\nWhite Oak Foundation is a non-profit founded in 1998 from the roots of a small church congregation founded 156 years ago on sharecropper land. The foundation has been   responding to hot spots in Apex throughout the town's history & remains woven into Apex partnerships today.  Their mission is to provide education & opportunity to end poverty\, homelessness & hopelessness. This childcare center will provide access to       affordable quality care\, which is an essential component to childhood development. \n\n \n\n \n\nIn fact\, this fight is packed with heart. \n\n \n\n \n\nBy teaming up with our downtown merchant's 100% of your donation will be applied to the foundation to upfit the school with everything necessary to open. When you sign & display your snowball\, wear your believe in community sticker or beanie around town you earn shopping perks and demonstrate what makes Apex special. Besides general up-fit\, the academy is specifically seeking partners that are able to assist with securing funding for large ticket items such as playground equipment\, their library & the computer lab. \n\n \n\nFifteen merchants have 150 snowballs & a total of 150 beanies\, that's 2\,400 opportunities to blanket the street with the sparkle of our community spirit.
